rain, rain, go away.

Huge and intricate spiderweb right by the cottage!

I FINISHED my Mediterranean style table! Let me know what you think!
Remember the cheap, old table i found at a garage sale in my projects galore post?
Here's what it looks like now!

Phase one - finished laying and gluing pieces of glass, ready to grout!

Phase two - heavy coat of grout to get in all the crevices!

And, taadaaa, the finished piece, wiped down and shined up! Top view

Table view :) I LOOOOOVE it!

Also had a great day out with Kara and Hammy (who I hadn't seen in ages!) We went to Moe's

Embrace the rainy day!

glass mosaic work.

My little closeup shot preview to my table I've been fixing up! More below ;)
Closeup shot + my shadow.

Just starting out, nothing is glued down as of yet in this shot..

Making progress, day two or three...

Closeup end of day three shot :) I like the colors,

I think it has an almost mediterranean feel!

I made a new mural for the cottage this year, my little tradition. It's a little less extensive than in previous years, but still very typical of the cottage. some shots below!!
(check out my ode to the cottage post to see murals from the last few years!)

New cottage mural 2010!! :)

Along with that, Drew and I worked on grouting the table we started. I think it looks preeeeeeeeeetty damn good, if I say so myself!

Picture from after we wiped off the first layer of grout. Still not done-- almost....
I've also been working on my garage sale table project. i think it's coming along nicely, especially from what it looked like before (see my previous post if you want to see a before picture ;] ) spray painted it white from the dingy, crusty old (piece of crap) looking table and got started on laying out the glass!

Aaahhh, here is the final result! Bright and colorful, I love it.
Next step is to waterproof it, but we decided to save that for another day.

ENJOY THE WEEKEND!

projects galore!

A nice shot of all the spray paint I bought at home depot :)

A decanter that my mom happened to break the second we got home, so we used it as a vase instead!

GARAGE SALE FINDS:

Side view of the new blackboard table, fun fun!!

Top view with a few doodles from me and friends! :)

Thats it for now!

This little glass basket was also a garage sale find. Fits in the kitchen perfectly after we cleaned it all up!

This table was also a great garage sale find, perfect for me to fix up and mosaic!

Picturebook summer so far!

Welcome to my summer.

First off, here's a finished photo of the curtain I made for the shelves in the cottage.
much more tidy and clean!!

they're great because i can just move the fabric on the ribbon to see what's inside!

I have also been working on a glass mosaic table. It's a project my friend Drew and I are doing, and it is addicting! Lots of fun though. We finished it in 4 days! Now it's just time to get the rest of the table put together...

End of day one. We only worked on the blues and still a lot more to go!

End of day two, here come the reds!

End of day three, you can see the spiral forming!

And taa daaa! End of day four! Finished mosaic masterpiece!
Pillows I made - I say this is the front side. I like the bit of yellow!

Back side!

Scarf closeup!

Pretty long but still only halfway done!

Not much else that's new. I'll leave you with a nice poem made by kara and myself back in high school. I re-read it this morning and gave me a laugh, and I love the fact that kara got an A on that assignment!

"Roller Coasters

Up and down
They never make me frown
Flying through the air
I love the fresh air up there
I feel so free
I am filled with glee
I wish I could go everyday
And never ever have to pay
But I mean to say, it really is worth it
My only fear is that I'll fall and need a first aid kit
But that won't happen, I really hope
Because roller coasters are just so dope
My favorite ones go upside down
They go really fast and all around
Hands up is the way to ride
So don't throw up or you'll need some Tide
Each roller coaster holds new adventures
Sometimes old ladies scream and lose their dentures
I could imagine they'd be very upset,
They could fly anywhere, as far as Tibet
I'm really glad my teeth are real
Because roller coasters give me a good feel...ing
I hate the wooden ones they're really scary
They're almost as scary as eating dairy
I'm lactose intolerant, what can I say?
That is why dairy is bad at the end of the day
So back to rollercoasters, they are swell
They make me shout and they make me yell
They are so much fun
You should go on one"

crafty crazy and taco salad

My crafty crazyness has truly begun.
first off, i made a little pouch for my bike riding adventures!

Easy to put on and take off on the go!

I also made a nice elastic skirt for myself about a week ago.
Simple and comfy, makes a cute outfit!

Silly me, only I'd forget to take a finished product picture!
I think i got too excited and put it on and forgot. I'll post one up next week. :)

Also  finished up that curtain project I'd been planning to finish for the longest time!
Woohoo it's about time! I'll put up an end result picture up next week also.

Kara and I also had a little RARA + BIZ 'speepover' (as we call it) this past friday!
Lots of fun, just like back in the old days! We even got scared there was a burglar in the house in the night.

Then the next day my mom and I made some taco salad, soooo good.
We always used to make it when i was a kid, it had been a while!!

Table for two, Clegg house!

I made a little place setting.

Close-up shot, pre-sour cream plop!

Mmmmmmmmmmm, looks good to me!!

I also had a few of my first sales on etsy! yeeahh!!!!
So I had to make a few gift tags for each of the orders...

Go make some taco salad!!
